National Parks
The biggest national park is Wrangell-St. Elias. It can fit the states of Massachusetts, Delaware, and Rhode Island. A national park is a protected area which means it belongs to all of us. National Parks are chosen based on what you can see and do there. Some have crazy rock formations like Bryce Canyon. Arches Park has stone gateways. Carlsbad Caverns has bizarre mineral formations. Other parks support unusual ecosystems. Blind Shrimp live only in the underground pools of Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. The West Indian Manatees live in Biscayne Bay. Animals around the brink of extinction were saved by National Parks. in 1872 the first National Park was created in the Rockies.
