Carbon Cycle

Carbon goes from rocks and soil, dissolves from seawater, goes inside the Earth's crust and in the air as carbon dioxide. This is called the carbon cycle. Animals add carbon dioxide to the atmosphere and plants soak up carbon dioxide during photosynthesis storing the carbon in their cells. Plants especially trees are known as carbon sinks because they take more carbon dioxide then they add to it. Oceans are carbon sinks to because they take up more carbon then they release. When plants and animals die the carbon flows out of their bodies and goes inside the Earth's crust. The carbon is locked up in the crust for millions of years and comes out because of volcanic eruption and that's the carbon cycle.
